Today marks 13 weeks which means I am officially in the 2nd Trimester. We had our third doctor’s appointment this morning. The doctor said my blood work report had come back and everything looks really good and I found out my blood type is AB+ (I never knew my blood type before).
The doctor then took the doppler over my belly to try to find Baby Sklarew's heart beat. The doppler is basically a very sensitive microphone connected to a box that produces the sounds inside of my womb. The doppler was unsuccessful so she decided to do a sonogram. So we got to see the heart beat and the baby. The baby was very active, kicking and punching and I think he or she even waived at us. The doctor admitted that she isn't that good at taking sonograms but she would try to print a good picture, but it’s so bad I can't even make out the head so I am not going to post the picture.
On the monitor we did see the baby's head, legs, arms, hands and feet this time. It was so cool to see the baby move he or she was faced down on the left side, the doctor removed the thing off my belly for 5 seconds and then placed it right back down and the baby already moved to the right side facing down, so we must have just missed the tumble.
Our next appointment is On December 31, and I will be one day shy of 17 weeks. We also found out that our sonogram that will tell the gender of the baby will be done at a lab and that it will be a lot clearer so hopefully we will have good pictures and if I have my way, a dvd of the sonogram.
